Coaches:  Use the tips on this page to help your athletes & parents have a great experience!

BEFORE COMING TO THE MEET:

1)  REGISTER IN ADVANCE!  No race day registrations are accepted!  See the register tab for more details.

2)  PAY YOUR ENTRY FEE.  This speeds up the entry process for everyone involved!  If you are not able to mail in the entry fee at least 1 week in advance, please bring it the day of the meet.  Please do not have your athletes pay individually at check-in, this really slows down our check-in process.  If you are having your athletes pay their own entry fee, we ask that you collect this in advance and turn in all money at check-in.

3)  COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR ATHLETES AND PARENTS:  This is not your typical junior high meet.  Most of your athletes and parents have probably not experienced a meet of this magnitude.  Between athletes, coaches, & spectators you can expect 3000+ people at the course.  We strive to be extremely organized and put on a championship caliber event.  With that being said, we need your help!  Here are somethings we recommend communicating:

  • The meet schedule and how you have assigned athletes to the different races (Championship or Open)

  • Encourage your athletes & parents to arrive at the meet at least 1 hour before their race time.

  • If you will not be attending the meet, please designate one parent to check-in your entire team.

  • Designate a meeting spot for your team!  Look at the course map and pick a spot for your athletes to meet you or your designated check-in person so they can pick-up their bib number.  Consider using the tennis courts, football stadium, or a designated yard line on the football field.

  • Let athletes & parents know that state shirts will be sold at the meet.  We have a limited number and regularly sell out.

RACE DAY:

1)  CHECK-IN on the north end of the stadium building.  Check-in will open at 11:00 am and close at 12:45 pm.  At check-in you will be given bib numbers, safety pins, and a team roster.

2)  DOUBLE CHECK your team roster for misspellings and race assignments.  This meet is bib chip timed.  Each bib has been assigned to a specific runner and a specific race.  If either of these needs to be changed, please report this to the finish line by 12:45 pm.

3) Have your athletes REPORT TO THE STARTING LINE at least 15 minutes before each race with their competitor bib pinned to the front of their uniform between their chest and stomach (this ensures the chip will be read).  Starting boxes are first come, first serve in the open races and will be assigned for the Championship Race.  Starting boxes will be posted on this website and at the meet.

4)  After the race DOUBLE CHECK RESULTS as they are posted.  Please report any errors to the finish line ASAP!

5)  AWARDS will take place at 2:45 pm in the stadium.  Athletes & spectators are encouraged to sit in the east stands.  Athletes will be called down to the track to receive their medals.  Medals are given to the top 25 individuals in the Open Race and top 25 individuals in the Championship Race.  Plaques and medals are also awarded to the top 3 teams in the Championship Races.
