Nebraska Junior High State Cross Country Meet
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Noon on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025
NOTE: There is not a qualification process, all athletes and teams from across the state of Nebraska are welcome to compete.
RACE DIVISIONS:

CLASS A/B CHAMPIONSHIP RACE: This race is for schools and individual runners who represent a school district whose high school competes in Class A or Class B. Athletes must be in 7th or 8th grade.

If your school is not associated with a high school, you should compete in this division if your school has 120 or more students enrolled in grades 7 & 8.

Teams are limited to 7 runners, and their top 5 will score for their team.

Medals are awarded to the top 25 individual athletes.

Plaques & medals to the top 3 teams. ​

CLASS C/D CHAMPIONSHIP RACE: This race is for schools and individual runners who represent a school district whose high school competes in Class C or Class D. Athletes must be in 7th or 8th grade.

If your school is not associated with a high school, you should compete in this division if your school has less than 120 students enrolled in grades 7 & 8.

Teams are limited to 7, and their top 4 will score for their team.

Medals are awarded to the top 25 individual athletes.

OPEN: This race is for teams who filled their championship roster, but have runners who still want to compete in a championship environment, club teams, and unattached runners who do not want to compete in the Championship Race. Open to athletes in the 8th grade or below.

​Medals are awarded to the top 15 individual athletes.

No team awards are given.

HOW TO REGISTER A TEAM:
Complete entries online at www.athletic.net (you will need to sign-up for a free account and add the "Nebraska JH State XC Meet" to your team calendar). Entry fees ($10 per athlete, team maximum of $150) can be mailed to:

HOW TO REGISTER AN INDIVIDUAL:
Parents, before you register your own son/daughter please touch base with your coach to see if they will register your runner. This eliminates double-entered athletes. If they do not plan to enter your runner, you may follow the steps provided at the link below:
